The Bahamas

I was asked, again, to join a family vacation to the Bahamas with the family for which I nanny. Here are some of the pictures I returned with:

Jamie

Jamie and her husband Evan are expecting their first child. The two are very excited about this new addition and new stage in life. They are waiting till the birth to know the sex, (a surprise!) but Baby Shipp already has an adorable nursery and a loving mommy and daddy anxiously awaiting. The day Jamie and I met to take pictures, Evan was sick and the weather was especially cold. However, I never once heard a complaint from this glowing mother-to-be. (Even when I told her to lay in a field... ) Take a look at some of my favorite shots from this shoot:

Christmas Family Shoot

This shoot took place at the lovely Harris home. The shoot involved three families: The Harris Family, The Sells Family, and The Duke Family. In total there were six adults and seven children. Photographing seven children all under the age of six is not an easy task. And, sadly, I believe I failed to capture the joy of youth on film. Instead, I managed, quite successfully, to capture the "I don't want to have my picture taken" expression. Take a look at some of the pictures from this hilarious family photo shoot:

Chicago

I went to Chicago for my other job, and while there I was able to steal away a few hours to myself. It was a chilly, rainy day in the windy city, but that didn't stop the streams of people flowing up and down the famous Michigan Avenue. I did a bit of window shopping myself, but was quickly discouraged by the masses. I headed for Millennium Park, where I was greeted by protesters and tourists. All in all, I wasn't able to get too many shots, but I wanted to post one in particular. I love the character and randomness of the subject. I hope in the future I am brave enough to ask other strangers if I can take their picture. The results are wonderful.

Courtney

Courtney and I went out to Bernheim forest to play with our cameras and enjoy the 70 degree fall weather. Courtney has an extremely unique personality; she's high-strung and laid-back, she's completely serious and completely kidding, she's a great friend. (And easy on the eyes... ) Here were some of the pictures I came back with:

Katie

Katie possesses perhaps one of the most graceful demeanors I've ever encountered. She's calm, sweet, and lovely. Katie hadn't had nice pictures of herself since her senior year of high school, and she wasn't too pleased with those. It was a cold Saturday afternoon when we got together for the shoot, both of our hands were so numb we could only move our fingers with some considerable effort. Nonetheless, we had a nice time strolling around old Louisville and talking.

The Sells Family

I spent my morning with the gorgeous Sells family. This family of four mesh together in harmony. There is mom, dad, big sister and baby brother. Brittany and her husband Craig have put together this solid union and I was lucky enough to capture some of it on film.
